Littera takes the utmost care in selecting its tutors. Each Littera tutor undergoes a rigorous vetting process, which includes a mandatory criminal record background check. No tutor is allowed to start tutoring without having passed this background check.
During the hiring process, Littera looks for educators with:

How Are Littera Tutors Trained?

Littera tutoring sessions are conducted virtually through the safe and secure Littera Virtual Classroom, which is included in the Littera platform. This virtual classroom offers:

Compensation and Working Hours

- Pay ranges from $15 to $20 per hour (High School Math is generally paid at $20/hour)
- Payments are made monthly at the end of the month.
- Littera only hires teachers from the United States.
- A degree or teaching certificate is not required (although preferred)
- Classes typically have 1-3 students.
- Curriculum is provided on the tutoring management system, Learncube but you can also use your own materials.
- Peak tutoring hours are from 4-7 pm in all US time zones, but classes are available from 8 am to 7 pm (all US time zones).
- Classes can vary in length from 20 to 60 minutes.
